Site Visit – WinLab
Over two intense and inspiring days in Winterthur, our team gathered at Kopfbau 118 — itself a remarkable example of circular construction — for a series of key meetings, workshops, and site visits. The programme provided the opportunity to reflect on our progress, exchange with experts, and deepen our collaborations with local and national actors involved in the energy transition.

Day 1 - Monitoring Panel & Site Visit
We began the first day with our annual Monitoring Panel meeting, a central moment to present the progress of our activities and share recent outputs. Through focused presentations and open dialogue, we engaged in constructive exchanges with the panel of experts, addressing specific areas of work and receiving valuable feedback to guide our next steps.
In the afternoon, attention shifted from strategy to practice with a site visit to the Lokstadt Living Lab, part of the SWEET SWICE project. This segment was officially opened by Mike Künzle, Mayor of Winterthur, who welcomed participants and introduced the city’s broader ambitions in sustainable urban development.
The visit offered rich insights into local innovations and practices, particularly in mobility and energy. The sessions provided a platform to discuss synergies and integration opportunities between our respective initiatives. This was followed by an apero and interactive workshop designed to showcase the activities of SWEET SWICE and Lantern consortiums. The atmosphere was lively and collegial, with several promising ideas and potential partnerships emerging from the discussions.
Day 2 - General Assembly and workshop
The second day began with our General Assembly, an important governance milestone including official votations and the discussion of key organisational developments.
This was followed by a collaborative workshop led by SWEET EDGE, focusing on mobility interventions. A session with city representatives and practitioners, the workshop explored new ways to plan and implement mobility actions at local level. We leave Winterthur with new insights, renewed energy, and exciting collaborations in development.
