SWEET Lantern envisions a just and sustainable energy transitionin Switzerland, where a decarbonized, energy-efficient, and sufficient society thrives with equal or enhanced well-being. Our legacy goes beyond developing and implementing solutions—it lies in empowering citizens, businesses, and municipalities to actively shape the transition through co-creation, testing, and evaluation. By fostering democratic, inclusive, and participatory approaches, we ensure that the energy transition is not only effective but also equitable, resilient, and deeply rooted in collective engagement.
Our mission
Our mission is to activate, engage, and empower communities, stakeholders, and institutions to accelerate the Swiss energy transition through co-created, evidence-based solutions. By leveragingLiving Labs and participatory research, we prototype, test, and evaluate innovative interventions for energy efficiency, sufficiency, and CO₂ reduction in living and working environments. We providescientific insights, policy recommendations, and practical tools that support stakeholders in making informed decisions, integrating research into real-world applications, and scaling up sustainable innovations to drive systemic change.
